Back in Talkeetna after an amazing experience on Hunter. I'm still quite exhausted and sore from the long ski in and push up the mountain. Soaking in hot water for two days has helped immensely.
Was able to forge a new route up to 11,000 feet, leaving 500 to 700 feet of 35 degree mixed climbing to a straight forward ridge climb to the summit. The mixed climb of granite slab, rock and ice would be easy to lead on belay, but too risky for me to solo with a weighted pack. A slip would be impossible to arrest. Will write a full story in the coming days but for now here is a picture from my 10,000 foot camp.

Talking with frequent travelers has taught me to be cautious of overly polished promises that don’t match reality on site. The most honest feedback usually highlights balance and consistency rather than spectacle. Reading through content related to luxury Morocco tours by Sun Trails reminded me of discussions I’ve had with seasoned travelers who value substance over appearances. That kind of alignment often signals a more grounded approach.
