Lonnie Dupre's inspirational presentation will introduce audiences to the wonders of the Arctic and teach them about setting and reaching goals. His talk will bring the One World Expedition right to you. Emphasis will also be placed on global warming, setting and achieving goals, teamwork and overcoming obstacles. Breathtaking images, along with video, Arctic gear and a variety of other props complement the power point presentation.
Dupre, who lives in Grand Marais, Minnesota, has over 14,000 miles of arctic and polar expedition travel by dog sled, ski, on foot, and by kayak. While using traditional Inuit means of travel, he has traveled expeditions to the North Pole, across the Russian Far East, Canada's Northwest Passage, Northern Scandinavia and Greenland. In 2001, Lonnie Dupre, and Australian John Hoelscher completed a 6,500 mile journey by dog team and kayak accomplishing the first rounding of Greenland's rugged coastline. They gathered some amazing information and pictures of the land, animals, and culture of the Polar Inuit. In 2006, Lonnie Dupre and Eric Larsen pulled and paddled modified canoes over 600 miles of shifting sea ice to the North Pole. This journey, called the One World Expedition, was the first to get ot the Pole in the summer, and reached 68 million people worldwide on issues of global warming. Lonnie is available for school, corporations and community group presentations. His talks can be adapted to any level, age and time schedule. Generally, the 75 minute program consists of a 10 minute segment of "show and tell" items from the expedition. This is followed by 55 minutes of breathtaking images and video, and a 10-minute question and answer period. Praise for Lonnie's speaking engagements"You have our deepest admiration and thanks for showing us the potential of what can be accomplished through working together." --3M General Offices "You truly captivated the audience with your stunning slides, stories and display of your expedition clothing." --St. Olaf College "Your talk was thoroughly enjoyed by all and you certainly managed to convey not only the great difficulties of your journeys, but also something of the essence of the place; its scale, its inhospitable environment and its haunting beauty." --Royal Geographic Society "[Lonnie] is one of those rare individuals who is a doer. He has the organizational skills that are necessary to put an idea or dream into action. He knows the frustrations of refusal and rejection .... and one of his greatest assests is his ability to keep positive against great odds." --Will Steger Arrange a presentation To make arrangements for corporations, businesses,or school presentations contact: PO Box 940 Presentation ScheduleUpcoming Keynote Presentations by Lonnie DupreCatch one of Lonnie's upcoming presentations!
